UCOLLEX 「Woman Up!」

In the art market, male artists have always been considered dominant, but after 2000, many female artists have emerged in auctions and made a name for themselves in the art world, bringing more exciting masterpieces to the audience and greatly contributing to the diverse development of the art world.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the popular culture and art NFT trading platform  UCOLLEX   specially organized the “Woman Up!” event, inviting 6 female artists from Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan to create artwork with the theme of Mimosa, representing the power of women, in various styles, and transforming them into limited edition NFT pieces for sale.

Each artist has a different feeling about the current situation of women in society. Kasumi Yoshida from Japan expressed her hope that the world can progress into a place where everyone is satisfied, and in order to achieve this kind of world, she will continue to think about women’s lifestyles.

TEBASAKI, also from Japan, shared the reason for creating this illustration because she hopes to see more women and men have equal learning rights, and women can be active in various professions.

Japanese artist ktym depicts the image of a crying woman, expressing that regardless of strength or weakness, women themselves also shine with beauty. Meanwhile, INTO from Taiwan portrays an image of herself, combining with the Taiwan cherry blossom, showcasing the gentle and caring side of women, as well as their inner strength, emitting a sparkling and delicate aura.

ironicapun depicts the typical female body silhouette, symbolizing how women, regardless of race, age, size, and background, will be collectively unified. A woman’s bare back represents the vulnerability and insecurity of women in society. However, the vibrant golden mimosa flower bouquet in the woman’s hand exudes strength and sensibility, giving people infinite courage.

For Hong Kong artist YWS, the yellow of the golden trumpet tree is like a little sun in her eyes. The girls on the mountain collected these flowers and shared their radiance.

The works of 6 artists will be made into 50 NFTs, and will be sold in a total of 300 blind boxes. Each NFT artwork is priced at $30 (approximately HK$230), and if you successfully collect the paintings of each artist, you can receive rare NFTs from this event. The proceeds from the event will be donated to the Japanese organization International Cooperation in Family Planning to protect women’s rights.

You can purchase these artists’ works at affordable prices and support women’s rights in other areas. Welcome everyone to support this “Woman Up!” event!
