Tai Kwun “BOOKED: Hong Kong Art Book Fair” is now open! A series of book stalls and workshops allow you to rediscover the warmth of art and words!

In this era of advanced electronic technology, we can all see diverse information on the internet. How many of us still have the habit of reading books? The Tai Kwun’s “BOOKED: Hong Kong Art Book Fair” has quietly welcomed its fourth edition, bringing together a group of booksellers, art and cultural professionals, and inviting book lovers to participate, allowing everyone to rediscover the warmth of words and art!

“BOOKED: Hong Kong Art Book Fair” is an annual event presented by Tai Kwun Contemporary that showcases art and publications. This year, there are over 80 publishers, artists, booksellers, and institutions participating, featuring books created by artists and aimed at artists: including zines, photography books, art monographs, reviews, and experimental writing. There are also various exquisite publications and peripheral printed materials for sale, resembling a small book fair, but the form of small booths brings everyone closer together, allowing book lovers and publishers to engage in deep conversations and experience the essence of the event.

This year’s “BOOKED:” once again focuses on Hong Kong participating units, sharing their own published books on site; at the same time, the “Twin Exhibition” program allows non-local participating units to break through geographical restrictions, enabling them to exchange ideas through books even if they are far apart. Key local participating units include Artouch, the Visual Arts Academy of Baptist University, comic artist Chan Ka-yin, Old Textbooks | Lau Chi-chung, etc.

In addition, “BOOKED:” will hold a series of programs during the exhibition, such as special project displays, new book releases, lectures, performances, and workshops, allowing artists to share their creative results and experiences through the platform of “BOOKED:” and providing everyone with the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of publishing creation. One of the key exhibitions is Yang Jun’s presentation of his artist publication through a large-scale installation, reflecting on the changes and evolution of people’s self-awareness in a narrative manner.

“BOOKED: Hong Kong Art Book Fair” will be held from now until December 19 at the exhibition spaces on the first floor of Tai Kwun JC Contemporary and F Hall, with an admission fee of HK$40 (standard ticket) and HK$30 (concession). Book lovers, don’t miss this opportunity!
